Barb Caffrey has been an editor for Masterpiece Comics since October of 2005. Mrs. Caffrey holds a master's degree in music from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside ; she plays three instruments (saxophone, oboe and clarinet) and composes music. She's also worked for several newspapers as an opinion columnist and arts and entertainment reporter. She is a freelance writer and musician, with three professional sales in the past two years. "Bright as Diamonds" (with late husband Michael B. Caffrey) was featured in the BEDLAM'S EDGE anthology (Baen, 2005); "A Dark and Stormy Night" (as secondary writer to Michael B. Caffrey), to The Written Word, Rebel Dawn Creative Forces, May 2005; and a nonfiction article, "On Collaboration," appeared in Vision Online magazine, June 2004 edition. She also runs and moderates a free internet writing critique group called Barfly_Slush through Yahoo Groups.
